BIO:
Designed for Success owner & creative director, Patricia A. Rodemann has experience in strategic marketing, brand management, market research, written & visual communications for interior & exterior architectural design products, the home improvement market, automotive interiors, licensed fashion properties, Fortune 500 manufacturing, CPG, financial, non-profit and retail clients.
Affiliations:
Rodemann is a chairholder in the International CMG-Color Marketing Group. She served as chair of color education '07-'09, as past chair of Saturday education two terms and marketing committee two terms, as an affiliate member of the IIDA -International Interior Design Association-served on statewide program planning committee (IBD) on 'green design'. She was a member of ASID and designed the '93 garden tea room. She held professional 'expert' researcher certification in the MRA -Market Research Association '06-'07. She has won several local and regional ADDY awards for corporate capabilities literature, catalogs, sales and design brochures and merchandising.
Career:
'Cia' was a VP in new business development & strategic planning with Borden Worldwide Decorative Products Group following an 11 year progression of design, marketing and communications management positions with Borden prior to forming her own consultancy, Designed for Success in 1995. She also works with Eberwein & Company Inc. a certified financial planner and CPA, and has done extensive volunteer/community service work calling on hospice, hospital, nursing home patients, giving workshops & mentoring undergraduate and graduate university students, and most recently developing the Spirit, Hope, Health & Wholeness event series for All Saints.
EDUCATION:
Her MA degree is from the ID (visual communications/ interior design/industrial design) department in the College of the Arts from OSU -the Ohio State University; BA in Journalism/mass communication from ISU-Iowa State University. Her masters research thesis was on the impact of the designed environment on behavior earned concurrent with her work at Borden.
Rodemann has done additonal post graduate work with an MTS degree - coursework in adult development, counseling, spirituality, world belief systems and ethics-while working full time. She was care-giver to her late parents and aunt, terrific life experience. She most recently completed CE coursework in Adobe CS3 InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator at CCAD -Columbus College Art & Design '08, Dreamweaver & advanced digital design in '09 and CEU workshops on online research, mobile marketing, ethnography and reaching Hispanic audiences -through MRA Market Research Association '07-'09 and AMA American Marketing Association in SEO, blogging, technology, social networking etc.
PUBLISHED:
Rodemann is the author of text/trade book, Patterns in Interior Environments, perception, psychology & practice published by John Wiley & Sons '99, the author of a chapter in Healthcare Design '97, and numerous trade and professional journals. An article in Architecture & Design Wiley UK will be published Fall '09 on psychology of pattern in architecture. Her work has appeared in feature articles in Furniture Today, Wallcoverings, The Wallpaper, Woman's Day Home Decorating, Contract Design, the ASID Report, numerous editions of Color Chips and other newsletters and publications. She holds 22 federal copyrights for her design trend research reports. She recently became Columbus Interfaith Religion & Spirituality examiner, submitting 2x weekly posts online. SPEAKER:
Patricia spoke at Neocon several times, IIDA (CEU approved by IDCEC through 2010), ASID, National Healthcare symposium, KCMA, PDRA, NFDA, Popai, CMG and delivered half day and full day workshops on color, pattern, style trending, demographics & design for many internationally known client companies and locally for IACO. She loves her subject/s & her clients, is a teambuilder, both caring and motivational in nature.
